Good Afternoon Professor,

The last time we spoke I had run into you at the ARC and we briefly caught up about the upcoming interview that I had heard back about after initially reaching out to you via email to help connect me with one of your LinkedIn connections. I reached out to you because working for The North Face had been one of my top goals ever since I've thought about my career in finance - it was the perfect combination of my passion for finance as well as my love for the outdoors. Quite honestly, I didn't expect anything to come out of cold emailing you some few months ago, but I had distinctly remembered your emphasis on being a "purple cow," which truly inspired me during this time to do something I wasn’t necessarily used to. Little did I know that your help connecting me with Elisia would've led to review of my resume, an initial phone screening, followed by a few more interview rounds, and finally an on-site interview.

I am happy to say that I recently just completed my first week working as a Financial Analyst at The North Face, my dream company. I did it professor. I wanted to show my gratitude to you that something as simple as introducing me to one of your colleagues had changed my entire life. Thank you for not only instilling such a realistic/no BS curriculum when I had you as a professor, but more importantly, thank you for going above and beyond what a typical professor does on a daily basis to help his or her students.

I hope this can be another story for you to continue inspiring your students later down the line of how crucial networking, LinkedIn, and a desire to be that purple cow is to our professional lives. Coffee will definitely be my treat next I'm in the Irvine area, but feel free to reach me at this email or via LinkedIn if you ever need to. Take care and thank you again for everything, sir.

Best Regards,

Minsong Hsu
